Trade Point A/S, Direct Container

The income statement for 2023 shows a profit of DKK 5,571 thousand against a profit of DKK 39,437 thousand last year, and the balance sheet at 31 December 2023 shows equity of DKK 30,549 thousand.
The Group's development is still primarily influenced by Trade Point A/S, Direct Container's activity.
Trade Point A/S, Direct Container's activity level has decreased in the financial year as the market unexpectedly did not recover as expected after the turbulence after COVID, where many customers experienced a significant decrease in demand, at times with high level of stock, despite a more normalised freight market. This has resulted in a fall in sales during 2023, as the customers adjusted the purchase demand to a new market situation, especially for the outdoor market that had all time high levels under COVID.
The Group's subsidiary in Germany primarily focuses on e-commerce continued its difficulties in 2023, as the market demand stayed at a very low level. At the same time the online market at our customers changed own online sales (B2B for Trade Point) to online marketplaces (B2C for Trade Point). This change and continued difficulties with the profitability in this business resulted in a management decision to close the activity in 2023, and the work with the closure will continue into 2024. This decision has resulted in a loss from revaluation of inventory and obligations in general under the new conditions. The effects from this are shown in the line Income from investments in group entities under the Parent Company’s income statement.
The Group's overall result is unsatisfactory and significantly lower than expected, especially caused by effects from our ecommerce activities and closure. The activity in the parent company is, taken the market conditions under consideration, satisfactory as we continue to invest in employees for increased complexity and expected growth and continued high focus on digitalisation.
